Mature and explicit content. Not recommended for readers below 18-years-old. Yup, you've got to be that old to read my story. Consider yourself warned.

I’m Dakota Collins, a tough talking, eye patch wearing, workaholic photography student. Why am I important? Well, maybe because I get to spend an entire month with Vicious, only the sickest indie rock band out there.

You see, I needed a subject for my Spring Showcase introspective in order to graduate. During a chance encounter at a club I’d been sent to cover for the Daily Gossip, our ironically named college paper, the features writer I usually teamed up with introduced me to the band—by accident, I might add. It involved a run in with a scary, bald bodyguard. Anyway, long story short, I signed a contract to take pictures of Vicious.

I should have known their handsome yet way too serious for his own good bassist, Luka Visraya, wouldn't be able to keep his hands to himself. He’s gorgeous and all, but the way he smiles spelled trouble with a capital L. I’m in for a long month with him around.

Crazy shit happens and then some. So, if you want the skinny on Vicious and the events revolving around my stay at Lunar Manor, read my story.
Again, refer to the warning above. (via Goodreads)

I haven't read Taste so I'm not sure whether that's a good idea or not. Though I have read the blurb of it so somehow, I have an idea. Mostly vague anyway.

I struggled through the first few pages. I don't know why. The start didn't entirely suck me right in. I didn't honestly felt that connection or spark between Dakota and Luka when  Dakota was having all the feels. I was even afraid I won't enjoy their teasing and flirting and romance. Yet as the story progressed, I grew to love the way they were around each other. It was both intoxicating and addicting in a way. Of course, I don't really mind the mature content. Really, naughty is the better term for those scenes. Though I have to admit that it was a bit excessive. With what Dakota and Luka did to each other. But I don't care because they both actually enjoyed it so I'm letting them have their way.

With Dakota being a photographer, I enjoyed it all the more. I felt as if I was the one taking pictures of the gorgeous band, Vicious. Her character mesmerized me because she really have that confidence despite her disability. It was really amazing how great she was as a photographer even if she only has an eye to view the world. It just bugged me that the dreams she kept on having didn't even occur to her as if it were her own memories. I'm not even concluding here. But with what she was dreaming, it was like it happened to her really. She did one thing I kinda hated since she was out of bounds that time. Yet with her condition, I understood why she did what she have to do. In the end, I felt for her. I want to punch someone gorgeous out there.

You think all the amazing creative stuff is done with Dakota's photography skills? Nah ah. Of course, Vicious' music was also highlighted. I want to go to their concert. I have this feeling that it will make me explode. It was compelling. The lyrics of their music. The way they perform in front of their audience. I can just picture it in my head and I might have watched them perform already. Yes, that great. Oh, with the fact that they do their own music without the help of professionals made it even more attractive.

I cannot go on without mentioning the Lunar Manor. It was splendid in my imagination. Add to that the servants who will totally serve you with all their heart.  I guess we can all live there and not get bored.

As much as I love and enjoyed Savor, more questions came up instead of answers. I thought it would be revealed as to why Dakota kept having those dreams. If her dreams were connected to her scars and the reason for her eye patch. But no. In the end, the fantasy/paranormal stuff came about which left more things hanging. Yes, it was sort of a cliffhanger but not entirely a cliffhanger. Do I even make sense? I know you get me anyway. The ending didn't really shock me or anything. Somehow, I felt that coming. Yet that doesn't mean it was okay to happen. Saying those things doesn't mean I didn't like the novel. Damn, I enjoyed it so much. I just wish there's more paranormal/fantasy stuff in it.

Despite my questions not being answered and despite me feeling this is more of a contemporary romance than an urban fantasy one, Kate was able to made up for those parts by writing in a very smooth and compelling way. Her writing and the creative stuff blended together made me enjoy the novel more. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel.

Be ready for a hot-intense-creative read with Savor. You will be left wanting for more as you turn the page and definitely more when you finish it.

About the Author
Kate EvangelistaWhen Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing.
